PERMANENT LIP MAKEUP
Permanent makeup of all kinds is commonly referred to as a “cosmetic tattoo” and there are different levels of discomfort depending on the area treated. However, permanent lip makeup is different from traditional tattoos in the sense that special pigmentations are utilized instead of ink. Everyone knows that with age and the constant application of lipstick, the color of your once very pink lips will fade. This is the bad news. The good news? HD Beauty has highly qualified micro-pigmentation specialists that can restore the youth and color in anyone’s lips. For perfect results, we strongly recommend 2-3 touchup sessions at least 5 weeks apart each. All specifics of the procedure must be discussed with our skilled micro-pigmentation specialists. There are many different types of permanent lip makeup, including lip blush, lip tattoo, and lip pigment. Toronto-based HD Permanent Makeup offers a wide variety of permanent lip makeup services to help you achieve the look you desire. Contact us today to learn more about our services and to schedule a consultation.
BEFORE SCHEDULING THE APPOINTMENT
First and foremost, it is extremely important that you let your technician know if you’ve ever had a cold sore outbreak on your lips. If this does happen to be the case, our technicians will ask you to take medication prescribed by a doctor before the procedure. Also, if you have had any recent lip modifications, such as surgery, we urge you to consult with a physician before you schedule an appointment. The doctor will inform you on exactly how long you should wait before having permanent makeup etched onto your lips.
Here at HD Beauty we have a wide variety of tools in our cosmetic arsenal. Upon request we will use a medical grade anesthetic to help minimize the client’s pain and make the experience as comfortable as possible. The permanent lip makeup process involves the insertion of the pigmentation inside the lip’s membrane, this enhances both your lip’s definition and color. Your first appointment will consist of a 1 on 1 consultation with one of our makeup gurus and the procedure which takes approximately 1 to 2 hours in total.
AFTER THE APPOINTMENT
& HEALING PROCESS
Everyone’s body may react differently, but in general, once the procedure is completed, the healing process takes about 5 to 10 days. During your initial consultation with one of our specialists at HD Beauty, they will look over your skin and give you more accurate information based on what they see. HD Beauty recommends that all clients planning on getting permanent lips should schedule the procedure for a Thursday. This will you time over the weekend to let the swelling and dryness die down. Your lips may look very dry and chapped as they heal. Not to worry because this is common for all those who get the cosmetic tattoo. First the color will get lighter, and then as the skin heals, it comes back. After a solid 2 weeks you’ll be seeing the truest form of the permanent lips. After the procedure is done you will experience swelling and colour will be bright. It will take 48 hours for the top layer of color to peel; your job is to keep your lips constantly moisturized with special lip balm.
& TOUCHING UP
If done properly the effects of this procedure will give you those fuller, more defined lips you always wanted. They will last you anywhere between 1 and 3 years depending on how you upkeep them. All forms of cosmetic tattooing require touch ups to keep the same definition and shape. Results may vary from person to person due to differences in maintenance. After the initial session the color will fade down by about 50%. This makes it is very urgent to come back for a touch up in about 5 weeks to achieve the desired results.
